It is no secret that every year, thousands of companies fail, and hundreds of thousands of men and women are let go from their jobs because they tried to get maximum results from minimum efforts. You know who they are. I remember growing up and when people parted they would say: “work hard,” while today they say “take it easy.” (Yes…I am guilty of saying it too.)
How often have you heard the expression, “I am not going to kill myself doing that; I do no more than I have to.” The professionals with that philosophy are the saddest and poorest people on this planet. Professionals who produce less than their very best are cheating… and the only people they are really cheating are themselves.
Ned Grossman has stated that excellence can be attained if you:
1. “Care more than others think is wise.
2. Risk more than other think is safe.
3. Dream more than others think is practical.
4. Expect more than other think is possible.”
I realize achieving excellence is not easy. It is a continuing process that requires from you commitment and unending hard work. Excellence, like success and happiness, is a journey, not a destination. Keep walking along that path toward greatness.
Have a GREAT Week!!
“Strive for perfection in everything you do. Take the best that exists and make it better. When it does not exist, design it. Accept nothing nearly right or good enough.”
--Henry Royce
“Professionalism means consistency of quality.”
--Frank Tyger
“Work is dull only to those who take no pride in it.”
--William Feather
